Insure he gets to Heaven

If a baby dies he goes to Heaven.

But if he grows up his chances are reduced considerably.

Since Hell is such a very long time, why take any chances?

He might just grow up and learn to think.

Thanks for your comment Gerard,

It's more of a thought experiment.

Lets say you were a person in hell, wouldn't you wish someone did whatever it took to get to heaven, even kill you at birth? If it's true that this life on earth is just a *blink* compared to eternity. Being killed as an infant would be infinitely better than an eternity in hell.

Paul, thats a good question.

May I start with this question:

Do some babies go to hell?
And if so why?

Thanks for your comments!

Naw man, thanks, I don't think I could get offended anymore.

I hope that there isn't a little baby, who wound up in hell wondering, what the fuck? If I believed that I'd cry myself to sleep every day.

Man you're pretty hardcore about this elect thing aren't you.
I'll admit I gotta do some thinking, and study to get more familiar with that "elect thing". It sounds horrible though, any ideas where I should look?

On page 78 of his book The End of Faith, Sam Harris quotes Bertrand Russell:

“The Spaniards in Mexico and Peru used to baptize Indian infants and then immediately dash their brains out; by this means they secured these infants went to Heaven.”

Shit my posts disappeared.

What I meant about you using someone else words, is that no one would come to the conclusion just by reading or studying the Bible, that this concept of the "elect" was even there. I know you see it so plainly because you were taught that interpretation.

In fact I think the interpretation of an "elect" is in the minority among Chrictians.

Plus Paul,
How do you know you're "elect"
What if you're not?

But, even if I didn't know, and not all Christians do have an assurance, this would not mean that Christianity is false of that the doctrine of election is untrue.

True, well spoken.
It's still an ugly concept though.
I don't think anybody will ever prove Christianity one way or another.

It goes to show that in Chrisiandom, the interpretations vary wildly.

But here's where I'll concede to you. If I believed the Bible was true, it would make sense, that this horrific vindictive God would creat souls to burn in hell.
But my finding Gods character deplorable in no way disproves his existance.

I do believe that the utter inconsistency of the Bible does that for me (I'm sure you'll argue that one).

You worship a very different God than I did.

Please indulge me this one, Paul.

I think all I really need to know is what you have told me, and just so I‘ve got this right:

There are two classes, those who are going to Heaven, and those who are going to Hell.

These classes were decided and created by God before the planet started.

These classes cannot be interchanged for any reason whatsoever.

There are no other classes than the two above.

Have I got that correct?

Thanks Paul.

Paul, yes or no

It's simple

If the next thing I hear is not an answer to this question, I'm deleting your post.

There are two classes, those who are going to Heaven, and those who are going to Hell.

These classes were decided and created by God before the planet started.

These classes cannot be interchanged for any reason whatsoever.

There are no other classes than the two above.

YES or NO

Yes or No?
Class of humans, not angels, demons, gods, goblins, faieries, aside.

Once again it's simple,

There are two classes, those who are going to Heaven, and those who are going to Hell.

These classes were decided and created by God before the planet started.

These classes cannot be interchanged for any reason whatsoever.

There are no other classes than the two above.

YES or NO

Have I got it right?
I can't argue against something that is constantly changing, and I can't have five thousand other documents involved implicitly. Let’s break it down simple..
